I always enjoy reading the bios of other artists. We all basically have the same story of how we got started, and I have to admit, my story is very similar. I started drawing when I was very young. Drawing everything from flowers to horses (my favorite subject at that time), to portraits.
As I got older, I decided to pursue an art career, and went on to college to receive my BA from Mary Baldwin College.
In 2001 I started Homepunstichin Graphics (which is now Sassy Cheryl's), an online clip art and web graphics store. I've learned so much since then, and my style has changed and developed over the past 8 years.
In 2006, I began licensing my work to companies for use on products. I have to admit, it is always a thrill to walk in to a store and see my artwork on merchandise.
But the biggest thrill for me as an artist is to create something that will put a smile on someone's face. Something that will make you laugh, something that you'll want to share with others. That is my ultimate goal!
